UMBC is located at the southern intersection of the interstate highway I–95 and the Baltimore beltway I–695. See the adjacent map.
By car
In these days of GPS and smartphones there is hardly a need to give you specific directions—just look up "UMBC 21250"; that's UMBC's own zip code. But you should know that there are multiple entry points to the campus. Unless you know your way around, we recommend that you take the main entrance from the south. If you are traveling on I–95, get off at exit #47-B. That will put you on Rte 166 North. UMBC is at the first exit.
By plane
The Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport is about 7 miles from UMBC. Taxi fare should be $25–30, each way.
By train
Amtrak's BWI train station is about 7 miles from UMBC. Taxi fare should be $25–30, each way.
